Communities.....

Wenger's chp 5 of locality kind of shook me up of his thought of community. He has outlined his  categories  of communities of practice and also said that large companies would not be considered as good community practice. Or is it so? As for me community would be share of  interest  or even share of intentions. Going to the same company going to the same work place might not have interesting interaction as your study group or hobby group but as a whole you are a part of some type of organization and that is a part of community.  In this sense some can argue that what about the personal relationships in bus, subways or even libraries. I know that there can be very minimal personal networks within some communities but seeing it largely gives you the vision that they are going for the same goals.  Same intentions is what links them together. if people who didn't have similar goals or intentions on the bus, they might do whatever comes up to their minds.  Some community of practice may not be  vision-able  as others but still in some point every community has it's own practice, at least what i think of...
